Custom Graphics for Longboard Skateboards

Custom Graphics for Longboard Skateboards

Longboard skateboards are more than just a mode of transportation or a tool for shredding the streets. They're a canvas for self-expression, a means to showcase your personality and style. One of the most captivating ways to do this is by adding custom graphics to your longboard. In this blog, we'll explore the world of custom longboard graphics, from the why to the how, and the limitless possibilities they offer.

Why Choose Custom Graphics for Your Longboard?

  1. Personal Expression: Your longboard can be a reflection of your identity and passions. Custom graphics allow you to display your unique style and interests.

  2. Stand Out: With custom graphics, your longboard won't blend into the crowd. It becomes an eye-catching piece of art that turns heads wherever you ride.

  3. Inspiration: Your graphics can serve as a source of motivation and inspiration. Whether it's your favorite band, a quote that resonates with you, or a breathtaking landscape, your deck becomes a daily reminder of what fuels your passion.

How to Add Custom Graphics to Your Longboard

  1. Design Your Graphic: Start by sketching or creating a digital design that you want to display on your longboard. You can use graphic design software or work with an artist to bring your vision to life.

  2. Choose a Printing Method:

    • Vinyl Decals: Vinyl decals are a popular choice for custom graphics. They are easy to apply and can be printed with intricate designs.

    • Spray Paint: For a more DIY approach, you can use stencils and spray paint to create your graphics. This method allows for a hands-on, artistic touch.

    • Custom Griptape: Consider using custom-cut griptape with your graphic. This adds an extra layer of customization and can provide a unique look and feel to your longboard.

    • Professional Printing: If you want a high-quality, detailed graphic, you can work with a professional printing service that specializes in longboard graphics.

  3. Prep Your Deck: Before applying your graphic, make sure your longboard deck is clean and free of dirt and debris. Sand the deck lightly to ensure better adhesion.

  4. Apply the Graphic: Follow the instructions for your chosen printing method carefully. Whether you're applying vinyl decals, using stencils, or customizing the griptape, take your time to ensure a clean and precise finish.

  5. Seal Your Graphic: To protect your custom graphic from scratches and wear, apply a clear grip tape or a clear coat of polyurethane. This will help preserve your design and keep it looking fresh.

Inspiration for Custom Graphics

  1. Nature Scenes: Breathtaking landscapes, forests, and sunsets can bring a sense of serenity and beauty to your longboard.

  2. Pop Culture References: Show your love for your favorite movies, TV shows, bands, or artists by incorporating references into your design.

  3. Abstract Art: Express your creativity with abstract designs, vibrant colors, and intricate patterns.

  4. Quotes and Text: Meaningful quotes, lyrics, or personal mantras can provide daily inspiration and motivation.

  5. Photographs: Turn your favorite photos into custom longboard graphics for a truly personal touch.

Conclusion

Custom graphics add an element of artistry and personality to your longboard skateboard. They transform your deck into a unique canvas, telling a story or conveying a message that's important to you. Whether you're an artist, a fan of pop culture, or simply looking to make your mark on the longboarding scene, custom graphics offer endless opportunities for self-expression and creativity. So, grab your paintbrush, your digital design tools, or your favorite artist, and start rolling with your own personalized work of art on wheels.

Ehlers Longboards

What’s in the lineup for Ehlers Longboards 2014!

We are near finishing up our 3rd year this Christmas.  We came along way since the one car garage days and are about to come up big in 2014. We have been in the works for months on new and innovative downhill designs. We are experimenting with different shape technologies to bring a new experience for our customer base.  We want board shapes to mold to your feet for confidence and stability.

We are going to tighten up the line-up for the downhill- freeride, traditional and cruiser divisions by taking away and adding shapes. We are having 5 drop downs 5 drop throughs 5 downhill directional boards for our downhill-freeride line-up. Each board will have their own custom graphic like the LRV1 and LRV2 series.

The new Road Runner will have double concave and its own custom graphic by Feb. We are working on the new Dexter model which will be a switch downhill directional similar to the Road Runner but with mirrored nose for the tail. We are going to mirror the Road Runner nose and make the nose and tail the same. Dexter is short for ambidextrous meaning both ways.

As for wheels, the new 77mm six star stone ground 81a sliding American Racers Zazas will be ready for down- hilling by Dec 10th. We currently do not have a big sliding wheel in our portfolio and can’t wait for wheels to be finished.

Now sponsoring! We are going to start looking for longboard skaters to skate for us. We are going to have four spots open for sponsorship which will include free products and international longboard magazine exposure.

We received a letter from a customer this is what she said.

Dear Mr. Ehlers

In 2011, for my thirteenth birthday, I received one of your longboards. It was one of your longer ones, and it was the watermelon check design. My cousin had directed me to this company to get it ordered, after I asked her where she’d gotten hers. I’ve even had several people ask me where I got it, and I gladly referred them to you. Mr. Ehlers, I am very happy that I came to your company for my longboard, because I have been very happy with it. I love the way it looks, and it is easier for me to ride than a skateboard. Whenever there isn’t snow on the road, I’m outside, riding my longboard. Mr. Ehlers, I have been very grateful to have a way of transportation. It makes it easier and quicker to get to babysitting jobs or youth activities.  I also appreciate the relaxation it brings when I’m just riding around.
Most of the teens I know have skateboards (I can’t steer them) rip sticks (can’t even get it to move) and bikes (don’t have one), and so I was very happy to have something that was easily mobile and fun to ride. It is fun to know that once I had a longboard, most of the people in my neighborhood got one. Usually, they are the trend setters, but thanks to your product, I got to be the cool one. Some of my friends also bought one. After I had told them about your company and how you could choose what the longboard looked like. They all appreciated this factor as much as I did.
In summary, I am glad that I could have a form of recreation when I’m bored or stressed. I’m also happy that I have a way of transportation to babysitting jobs and other activities that I have wanted to participate in. I’m glad that I got to be the “cool” one in not only in my neighborhood, but also with my friends. I’m glad that finally I found something to ride. I also appreciate the option to design the longboards.
Thank you
Kaylee

Ehlers Longboards

This was an amazing day in Maui, if you ever make it out there I recommend checking out the lava rock mountain. This road was the smoothest Ive skated in a long time. We actually found this path by accident. I GF took this photo, not bad for a first timer. This photo doesnt show any justice on how long it goes. The road is about 3 miles of super smooth assault. I'm skating the Ehlers Longboards Bamtam model. This board is awesome for everything from downhill freeride to cruising or pools. I made sure if I had to bring one model to Maui I'm going to bring the most diverse board in our inventory.

Ehlers Longboards

Things are that are going on with Ehlers Longboards.

We are currently working on a full length long-boarding video for the company. This video is long over due and should be done by next month. We have all the footage filmed and ready do go but are having a hard time finding the right editor for the video effects and editing. We recently bought the program Sony Vegas to mess around and see if we can create our own. Depending on how that goes it's always an option. The hard part about finding someone else to do your vision usually results in dissatisfaction. The footage is great I think it's going to be great for a first video from us. It's going to be a different kind of style of longboarding. The reason why I say that is because we are long-boarding and doing street skating tricks. It's not your usual downhill longboard video to sum it up. overall it's going to be great for the company. We have been business for over two and half years with no video which is crazy because we live and breath skateboarding in every fashion. We do not have any downhilling in the video only mild sliding with no helmets which might cause for some problems. We look at it this way, if you can try a three sixty kickflip down thirteen stairs with no helmet in regular skating. Then you can do a wall ride on a longboard with no helmet. We use Zaza sliding wheels in the video but I'll talk about that in a different blog.
